The NDIS have released the Annual Pricing Review outcomes, updated 2024-25 Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, as part of this year’s Annual Pricing Review.
The pricing changes will become effective on 1 July and include:
- Fully implementing the Fair Work Commission’s decision to increase minimum wages in awards and superannuation, ensuring providers can fairly compensate their workers.
- Increasing price limits for supports that are determined by the NDIS DSW Cost Model, including Level 1 support coordination services, to reflect changes in the minimum wages following the Fair Work Commission’s Annual Wage Review.
- Increasing the price limits for psychologists, nurses and other supports based on how much wages and the cost of living have gone up.
- Maintaining existing pricing arrangements and price limits for therapy (except for psychologists) and support coordination level 2 and 3.
- Adjusting short-notice cancellation period for non-Disability Support Worker-related supports to 2 business days to better reflect market norms.
The decision is based on the NDIA listening to feedback from the sector and acknowledging that their approach to setting pricing needs to evolve to reflect the demands providers face in delivering services.
In coming months, the NDIS will appoint an independent expert to oversee a review of the NDIS pricing structure ahead of next year’s Annual Pricing Review, in line with some of the reforms to pricing and the NDIS market more broadly identified in the NDIS Review. The NDIS are aiming to deliver a new approach to pricing in 2025 to reflect the evolving environment, being transparent and sustainable.
The NDIS will work closely with providers and other stakeholders to ensure that they have the information, support and resources needed to successfully navigate the transformation and continue delivering vital supports to participants.
This support includes the new ‘Quality Supports’ program because the market is not always able to provide the quality services every NDIS participant requires. Through the ‘Quality Supports’ program, the NDIA will directly commission providers to deliver high quality services to participants that may otherwise not have their needs met.
