Psychologist (Provisional)
Joel works from a warm and grounded approach, with a strong focus on creating a space where people feel safe, understood, and not alone in what they are going through. Joel knows that opening up can feel daunting, particularly when life feels heavy or confusing. His approach is centred on meeting you where you are, listening carefully to your experiences, and creating a space where you feel genuinely seen and heard. He takes things slowly and gently, helping you make sense of your thoughts and feelings in a way that feels safe and manageable.
Joel welcomes clients from all walks of life and works with a wide range of emotional, relational, and personal challenges. He understands that people seek therapy for many different reasons, and he meets each person with curiosity, compassion, and an open mind. Drawing from evidence-based approaches and an interest in mindfulness and present moment awareness, Joel tailors his work to what feels meaningful and helpful for you. He believes therapy should feel like a collaborative process, where your story, strengths, and values guide the direction of the work you do together.
Having grown up across both Sweden and Australia, Joel brings an open and culturally responsive perspective to his practice. He is passionate about helping people understand the protective patterns they developed throughout life, especially when those patterns begin to cause distress or hold them back. A core part of his work is supporting clients to build self-compassion as they make sense of their experiences, helping them approach themselves with greater kindness, patience and understanding.
