On the 5 September 2024, the National Disability Scheme Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track No. 1) Bill 2024 received Royal Assent. This means the Bill becomes an Act of Parliament – the law.

What you need to know 

  • The new NDIS laws come into effect on 3 October 2024 – 28 days after Royal Assent.
  • Some changes will take effect on day one, while others will take more time to design and implement.
